The "Freedom Riders" 50th anniversary

Bowling Green, KY – Fifty years ago nearly four hundred black and white non-violent demonstrators gathered in the deep south to fight Jim Crow segregation laws by riding previously restricted buses together. They became known as "The Freedom Riders". A PBS film about that summer of 1961 is airing on WKYU-PBS this weekend and Joe Corcoran has a report on the part some area residents played during that fateful summer and how it changed their lives.
