Frito Lay Cutting Jobs in Louisville

By AP

Louisville, KY – Frito-Lay Incorporated will close its snack
manufacturing plant in Louisville next month,
putting 326 employees out of work. Employees
at the 41 year old facility were notified today and
received a paid day off.

Production at the plant, which makes
potato chips and corn chips, is expected to
resume tomorrow. Company spokesman
Charles Nicolas says the plant in Louisville is
one of the company's oldest, and that is one of
the main reasons behind its closing. Company
officials say the plant is not expandable.

Frito-Lay is based in Plano, Texas.
