Franklin, KY – Kentucky state police have captured a Texas fugitive in Simpson County.
A release from state police spokesman Jimmy Kitchens says 32 year old Melvin Alexander was captured Wednesday night after he fled from themm off Interstate 65. He's accused of kidnapping his wife, who was found safe.
Alexander fled into a wooded area but was hunted down as several police agencies converged on the area. Tracking dogs were used and there was a Tennessee Highway patrol helicopter involved.
