Gas Explosion In Floyd County

Ivel, KY – The explosion of a four inch liquid gas line in a Floyd County subdivision has injued six people and left four houses in flames.
The blast occurred around 8:30 Monday morning in the Ivel community on U.S. 23 South near the Floyd-Pike County line.
Tracy Floden of Kentucky Emergency management says a state trooper who lived in the area of the blast received third degree burns and was airlifted to St. Mary's hospital in Huntington, WVA
Floden says the high pressure gas line belonged to Kentucky-West Virginia Gas. There's been no report on what might have caused the explosion.
