Glasgow, Madisonville-North Hopkins are Kentucky Marching Band Champions

Congratulations are in order for the Glasgow Scotties and Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons. Glasgow took home the 2012 Kentucky Class 2-A Marching Band championship Saturday night, and Madisonville-North Hopkins won the 4-A championship.

The Scotties and Maroons marched their way to the titles Saturday night at WKU's L.T. Smith Stadium, despite cold weather, strong winds, and a vehicle fire on I-65 in Barren County that delayed at least two bands from getting to the stadium on time.

Other schools from our listening area finished high in their respective class categories, including North Hardin High School, which took second place in Class 5-A. Lexington Lafayette won the 5-A crown, the school's 17th marching band title.

Adair County finished second in 3-A, with Bourbon County winning the title.

In 2-A, Danville finished second, Larue County third, and Hart County fourth.

John Hardin High School of Elizabethtown finished fourth in 4-A.

Congratulations to all the finalists from around the state!
