Owensboro, KY – Jury selection has begun in Owensboro for the trial of a 23 year old Scottsville man accused of the rape and murder of a Western Kentucky University student.
Lucas Goodrum is being tried for the attack on 18 year old Katie Autry in her dorm room in May 2003 after which the room was set on fire. Autry died three days later in a Nashville hospital.
Co-defendant Stephen Soules has already pleaded guilty to murder and rape and agreed to testify against Goodrum. Soules will be sentenced to life in prison without parole
