Gov. Fletcher Calls Investigation "Discredited"

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Governor Fletcher says evidence of hiring practices in previous
administrations discredits the special grand jury probe of his own
administration.
Fletcher says a computer database compiled by an investigator for his
office shows that politics was involved in previous personnel decisions. But
even the investigator said last week there was no evidence of criminal
wrongdoing found.
And deputy attorney general Pierce Whites says Fletcher's so-called
evidence can not compare to the 82 charges returned from a special
grand jury about wrongdoing in his administration.
Whites says Fletcher should also spend as much effort compiling
documents from his own administration that the grand jury has been
seeking.
