Bowling Green, KY – Governor Steve Beshear was re-elected by a wide margin over challengers David Williams, a Republican from Burkesville, and Independent Gatewood Galbraith. The Governor led the ticket for Democrats, who won most of the statewide races. One notable exception was the office of Agriculture Commissioner. In that race, Republican James Comer soundly defeated Democrat Bob Farmer.

In Bowling Green, incumbent Mayor Joe Denning conceded to challenger Bruce Wilkerson. Denning became Mayor earlier this year when Elaine Walker left the position to become Secretary of State. Melinda Hill won the race for one seat on the Bowling Green City Commission.
