Governor Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff

Frankfort, KY – Governor Ernie Fletcher has ordered flags at state
office buildings to be flown at half-staff. The order
coincides with funeral arrangements for First
Lieutenant Robert Henderson the second of Alvaton,
Kentucky, who was killed in action in Iraq.

First Lieutenant Henderson was a platoon leader
for Detachment 1, 21-23rd Transportation Company
for the Kentucky National Guard. He was killed
when his convoy came under attack on April 17th,
in Diwanlyah.

The funeral is scheduled for ten a.m. Central time
on Tuesday, April 27th. The funeral arrangements
are being handled at J.C. Kirby funeral chapel on
Lover's Lane in Bowling Green.

The 33 year old Lieutenant Henderson is survived by his pregnant
wife, Lisa. A baby fund has been established at area
Integra Banks for those wishing to contribute to a fund
for Lieutenant Henderson's unborn child.
