Governor Steve Beshear has ordered that state flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff today in honor of Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Anthony Rakes. The Deputy died this week after being shot during a routine traffic stop in Marion County.
Deputy Rakes was a six-year veteran of the Marion County Sheriff's Department who had also served two years with the Lebanon Police Department. Funeral services for Rakes are scheduled for 1 pm, Eastern time on November 17th. The services will be held at Marion County High School in Lebanon.
