Governor's Sister-in-Law Hired by State Agency

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Rachel Fletcher, the Sister-in-law of Kentucky
Governor Ernie Fletcher, has been hired by
the Kentucky Environmental and Public Protection
Cabinet. She will be working as an executive
secretary, starting Wednesday.

Rachel Fletcher is married to the Governor's
brother, Harold Fletcher, Junior. She will be
considered a non-merit state employee, and
will be paid about 25 thousand dollars per
year. The hiring takes place despite the fact
that one of Governor Fletcher's first executive
orders was to enact a hiring freeze across
state government.
