Ground Broken for New Campus Building in Leitchfield
A ground-breaking ceremony was held today in Grayson County, for the Walter T. Kelley Campus Building. The 11,500 square foot facility will be used to expand postsecondary education opportunities for students in the area.
Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and the Kelley Trust are providing financial backing for the project. Twin Lakes C-E-O Steve Meredith says community leaders have worked with Elizabethtown Community and Technical College President Thelma White in developing the idea. Meredith says White spoke with area business leaders about the need for such a facility, because more than 700 Grayson County students take classes at ECTC.
The new building will be located on Wallace Avenue in Leitchfield. Alliance Corporation, which is based in Glasgow, Kentucky is the general contractor for the project. The facility is expected to be completed by mid-2013.
