Louisville, Ky – Cardiac stem cell research being conducted in Louisville could change the way heart disease is treated. University of Louisville scientists have removed heart tissue from patients with heart disease, isolated cardiac stem cells, grown them, and then re-infused those cells into the patient's heart.
