Louisville, KY – House Speaker Dennis Hastert was in Louisville Friday morning to campaign for Republican Congresswoman Anne Northup.
Hastert spoke at a breakfast fund-raiser for Northup who's in a tough re-election fight in the 3rd district. She's being challenged by Democrat Tony Miller.
The Speaker called Northup one of the hardest working members of Congress, especially working to improve health care, reduce taxes and strengthen national security.
Miller received his boost Thursday night from Democratic vice presidential candidate John edwards. The North Carolina senator was in Louisville for a rally and fund-raiser that brought in nearly $700,000 for the national Democratic party
