Health Officials Say Spread of Stomach Ailment is Linked to Recent Basketball Tournament
Health officials in Lexington say a stomach ailment has spread from last weekend's basketball tournament at the Kentucky Basketball Academy. The Fayette County Health Department has received dozens of complaints about nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting from people who attended the event.
A spokesperson from the Health Department says the symptoms are usually mild and last for one to two days.
More than fifty teams from across the Commonwealth took part in the tournament.
Officials with the Health Department say there is no evidence of food contamination, and they believe the ailment was probably spread after someone who was already infected came to the tournament.
