Henderson Woman Injured In Sudan

By AP

Henderson, KY – The American wounded in Sudan this week is a Henderson native whose family says always wanted to work in foreign service.
26 year old Marian Spivey-Estrada was on a humanitarian mission Tuesday and riding in a four vehicle convoy when the convoy was attacked by unknown assailants. Her father, Dan Spivey, says his daughter was hit in the face with a bullet.
The attack happened in the region of Western Darfur in war-torn Sudan. Darfur has been plagued for more than two years by an ethnic conflict that has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people and uprooted more than 2 million.
