Hilltoppers' New Football Season To Begin Under The Lights

For the first time in 12 years, the WKU football team will be playing on a Friday night.  The Hilltoppers open their season this Friday, playing host to Bowling Green State.

First year head coach Jeff Brohm says his team is ready for the challenge of taking on last year’s Mid-American Conference champion.

“The fact that we’re playing a really good opponent is great for us. We get to see exactly where we stand right off the bat before we get into tough conference play for us,” said Brohm in his first Monday news conference of the new season.  “It’s an exciting time and definitely myself and all of our players will have nerves, but that’s part of it.”

Friday night’s game begins at 6:30 at L.T. Smith Stadium. It will be the first game for the Hilltoppers as members of Conference USA.  It will be the second matchup between WKU and Bowling Green State. The Falcons tripped up the Hilltoppers 41-21 in 2007 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
