Hilltoppers to Play Two Baseball Games in Bowling Green Ballpark

By Dan Modlin

Bowling Green, KY – The WKU baseball team will host two major, in-state rivals in the home of the Bowling Green Hot Rods this season.

WKU Athletics Director Ross Bjork says the announcement is an important part of the move to increase visibility of the WKU baseball program. Bjork says the WKU team has excelled on the field in recent years, and hosting two major in-state rivals at the Bowling Green Ballpark helps to draw public attention to the sport.

Last year the Hilltoppers defeated the University of Kentucky 24 to 8 in the first college game played in the ballpark. The Bowling Green Hot Rods are a Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Tickets for the April 5th game against the University of Louisville and the April 19th game against the University of Kentucky can be obtained at the WKU ticket office.
