Police say a man has been arrested following the death of a Hodgenville police officer who crashed his car during a chase. Police say Jason L. Avis stole a woman's car early Sunday and was being pursued by Officer Mark Allen Taulbee, who lost control of his vehicle during the chase and crashed. Taulbee was transferred to University of Louisville Hospital where he later died.
The 43 year old Taulbee had been with the Hodgenville police force for only thirteen months. He previously served as the Chief Deputy of the Butler County Sheriff's Department.
