The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green is still on scene of the injury collision at the 61 MM Northbound on I-65 involving a tractor trailer.
The operator, Keith Thompson (27) of Sewanee, TN, was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 when he hit a patch of ice on the roadway and lost control and struck the guardrail with his front left bumper and continued a distance before striking the bridge and coming to rest partially on its side against the bridge rail.
Crews are currently on scene tending to a diesel fuel leak from the collision and working to remove the vehicle. A detour is currently set up where motorists that are traveling northbound are being exited at the 58 MM Horse Cave to US 31 W where they can get back on Interstate 65 at the 65 MM Munfordville.
Thompson was transported by Hart County EMS to Caverna Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
