Motorists from I65 are urged to follow the US 31W detour route.  GPS units may indicate and suggest other routes, however many roads which connect with US 31W will likely be congested as local traffic attempts to navigate around detour traffic.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has issued this important traffic advisory Monday morning:

Northbound I-65 is reduced to one lane at mile point 56, just inside the Hart County line.

A semi has overturned carrying a load of batteries.  Removal and cleanup is expected to take around four hours.

While complete closure is not anticipated, the incident is in a construction zone and backups are likely with only one lane open.

Motorists may wish to use US 31-W as an alternate route.  The incident location is between exits 54 and 58.

Updates will be provided as removal and cleanup continue.
