I-65 Southbound Lanes Reopened after Multi-Vehicle Crash in Hardin County

Update at 5:43 p.m.:

The southbound lanes of I-65 have been reopened following Monday's multi-vehicle accident.

Update at 4:24 p.m.:

The southbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 94 in Hardin County remain closed following a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet just released the following information:

Wreckers have arrived to remove vehicles and road cleanup is now underway.

Traffic is still being detoured off southbound at exit 102 (KY 313-Joe Prather Highway) to US 31-W (Dixie Highway) south to rejoin I-65 at exit 91.

Traffic along KY 313 is very congested as is traffic along US 31W through Elizabethtown.

Traffic between the crash and the detour point is being routed over the exit 94 ramps around the crash.  That queue is down to approximately 1 mile.

Update at 3:04 p.m.:

The southbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 94 in Hardin County remain closed following a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says southbound traffic is being detoured off of I-65 at KY 313 (Exit 102) and then over to US 31-W and rejoin I-65 on the south side of Elizabethtown at Exit 91.  The current queue is being routed over the Exit 94 on/off ramps to bypass the crash, which is almost under the US 62 bridge over I-65.

US 62 near the interstate overpass is very congested.  As a result of the detour, traffic through Elizabethtown may also be very heavy along US 31-W (Dixie Highway) through the afternoon commute.

Original post:

A multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon has closed I-65 southbound lanes at mile marker 94 in Hardin County. A detour is being set up using the southbound ramps of US 62 over the interstate at the crash location.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet estimates the lanes will be closed until around 4 p.m. central, 5 eastern.
