Louisville, Ky – Two doctors at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville are using innovative technology to treat cancer patients. It's called Transoral Robotic Surgery, and it features the state-of-the-art Da Vinci Surgical System. A surgeon uses a console to control a camera, scalpel, scissors, and other instruments that remove cancerous tumors from the head, mouth, and neck. In many cases, patients have a dramatically reduced recovery time. Kevin Willis went to Louisville to meet the surgeons involved and a patient who had a cancerous tumor removed from the base of her tongue.

Kevin is the News Director at WKU Public Radio. He has been with the station since 1999, and was previously the Assistant News Director, and also served as local host of Morning Edition.
