(Frankfort,KY---AP) – An internet worm has interrupted work in several motor
vehicle registration offices
in Kentucky. Computers that handle auto registration data were impacted by the worm in
at least six branch offices in Jefferson County. In Fayette County, the County Clerk
reported that it was
almost impossible to process registrations Monday. However,
offices in Franklin County reported no major problems with computer performance.
Some other state services also were affected. Gil Lawson of the
Cabinet for Health Services says there were widespread reports of problems. Services
including medicaid, food stamp benefits, and child support experienced delays in some
areas.
