Interstate Closure to Continue Several More Hours
A crash on northbound I-65 at mile marker 19 has interrupted the flow of interstate traffic this afternoon in the Warren County and Simpson County areas in Kentucky. Northbound traffic on the interstate is being detoured to U-S 31W at mile marker 6 in Simpson County.
Transportation Cabinet officials say a trailer home that was being transported was involved in an accident with other vehicles, resulting in a large amount of debris being scattered on and adjacent to the interstate roadway. At 3:30 pm Central time, the duration of the crash clean-up was extended for another three hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
At one point, traffic was backed up for seven miles as a result of the crash according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
