The president of a Somerset music festival has finally landed the headlining act she’s been after for years.

“I remember my first meeting nine years ago--I was like, ‘I want John Prine', said Tiffany Bourne. "And the board, no matter who’s been on it, every year, we’ve tried and tried and tried. But he lives in Europe in the summer months, so it was always a ‘no.’”

But Tiffany Bourne says singer-songwriter John Prine has finally told theMaster Musicians Festival “yes”.

Prine is a two-time Grammy winner most widely known for his Kentucky coal anthem “Paradise.”

Bourne says Prine will be the final act at the festival’s 25th anniversary celebration this summer.

The Master Musician Festival is July 13th and 14th at Festival Field on the campus of SomersetCommunity College.

The festival released its musical lineup Wednesday evening. Other acts performing at this year’s event include J.D. McPherson, Amanda Shires, and The Dead South.
