KCTCS Hosts Safety Conference

By Dan Modlin

Bowling Green, KY – Safety concerns at KCTCS institutions have increased, as enrollment has moved higher. Bob Hammons, System Director for Crisis Management, says the safety of students, faculty, and staff is a top priority. More than two hundred faculty and staff from across Kentucky have been meeting in Elizabethtown for a two-day conference dealing with subjects such as crisis teams, legal issues, and crisis situations in classrooms. KCTCS officials say it is extremely important for faculty and staff to understand and practice crisis exercises.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System has developed seven strategies for dealing with threats, emergency notification, and crisis management in higher education.
