Kentucky Army National Guard Unit to Return Early

By AP

Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Army National Guard says the 223rd
Military Police Company will be home next month. The
unit had originally expected to return in February.

The 170 troops are preparing to re-deploy to Kuwait
before demobilizing at Fort Dix, and then returning to
Kentucky. The 223rd has been in Southwest Asia
since last February. They supported U-S Army forces
during the invasion of Iraq. More recently, they have
provided security, supported convoys, and assisted
with the training of Iraqi law enforcement officials.
