Frankfort, KY – A Kentucky Army National Guardsman from Warren County
has been killed in Iraq. First Lieutenant Robert Henderson
the Second was killed Saturday near the Southern Iraqi
city of Diwaniyah.
The State Department of Military Affairs reports the 33 year
old Henderson was a Platoon Leader in the Owensboro-
based Detachment 1, 21-23rd Transportation Company.
The unit was deployed in January.
Henderson's mother, Lillian, said her son had been in the
Guard since the age of seventeen. She said he "loved it" and
always wanted to do what was right.
Henderson's comrades held a memorial service yesterday at
the unit's base camp in Kuwait.
