Kentucky High School Football Teams Battle Friday for Spot in Class Title Games

berecruited.com

This Friday isn’t just a big shopping day. It’s a huge day for high school football in Kentucky, with several teams from our listening area battling for a spot in the six class division championships next week in Bowling Green.

In what promises to be one of the most closely-watched contests in the state Friday, two undefeated teams from our region face off in a Class 5A semifinal in Elizabethtown. John Hardin High School hosts Bowling Green in a contest between two 13-0 teams who have each scored about five times more points than they’ve given up on defense.

The winner will be a big favorite to win the 5A title on Dec. 1 at WKU’s LT Smith stadium.

In a 4-A semifinal, Warren East travels to Shelby County to play Collins High School.

Monroe County faces perennial 3A power Louisville Central Friday night in Jefferson County, and Somerset hosts Newport Central Catholic in a 2-A semifinal.

You can see this Friday's complete high school football schedule here.

Three of the state’s six class championships will be held on WKU’s campus Friday, November 30th, with the other three the following day.
