Kentucky Native Finishes Sixth in Olympic Swimming Event

Louisville native Clark Burckle finished sixth in Wednesday's finals of the men's 200-meter breaststroke. Burckle was a high school star at St. Xavier High School before swimming collegiately at the Univesity of Arizona.

Burckle finished with a time of 2 minutes, 9 seconds.

Fellow American Scott Weltz finished in fifth place.

Hungarian Daniel Gyurta set a world record with his gold medal performance. The silver went to Great Britian's Michael Jamieson, and the bronze was won by Japan's Ryo Tateishi.
