Kentucky Unemployment Rises

Frankfort, Ky – The office of employment and training reports Kentucky's seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate climbed .2% from december to january.
The U. S. seasonally adjusted January jobless rate decreased by .2% from December to January.
Kentucky's chief labor market analyst Carlos Cracraft says this January marks nine consecutive months that Kentucky's unemployment rate has been below the national unemployment rate.
Also, January was the fifth straight month that Kentucky's unemployment rate has been below the 5% level. Cracraft says a monthly survey of business establishments revealed that Kentucky's non-farm employment jumped by 3,600 on a seasonally adjusted basis to just over 1,806,000
