Kentucky's Top Election Officer Predicting Low Voter Interest in Tuesday's Vote

Low turnout is once again predicted in this year’s Kentucky primary election. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes predicts only 10 to 12 percent of registered voters will participate in Tuesday's elections.

Grimes says many voters will stay home since the presidential nominations are already decided and few races for congress or the General Assembly are competitive. Thirty-two percent of registered voters cast ballots in the 2008 and 2010 primaries.

Turnout is likely to be higher in the fall.
