KY State Government Promotes Small Business Tax Credit

Frankfort – Small businesses in Kentucky will soon be eligible for a tax credit when they hire new employees. Mark Johnson with the state Cabinet for Economic Development says up until now, the tax incentives were only available to large manufacturers.

"Those businesses have certainly needed that type of assistance, but this program is really going to be for retail-based business, service-based business that typically in the past have not had access to this type of program."

The tax credits will range from $3,500 t0 $25,000 per business. The state will begin accepting applications in January.
