Legislative Leader Calls for Gambling Competition

Frankfort, KY--AP – A leader in the Kentucky House of Representatives says Kentucky would
make more money with casinos than with electronic slot machines at
race tracks. Speaker Pro Tem Larry Clark, who advocates more legalized
gambling in the state, says competition between casinos and race tracks
would be best for the state.

Representative Tom Burch of Louisville has said he will propose a
constitutional amendment to legalize video slots at race tracks. The
comments came at an Interim Legislative Committee meeting in
Frankfort. The General Assembly will convene again in January.
