Lexington Smoking Ban Remains

By AP

Lexington, KY – The Urban County Council in lexington has tentatively agreed not to change the city's law that prohibits smoking in almost all enclosed public places.
But councilman Ed Lane introduced a draft ordinance Tuesday that would allow smoking in bars as long as they meet specific conditions, such as having a ventilated air conditioning system. All patrons and workers would also have to be older than 21.
The council will address the proposed ordinance when it discusses whether it wants to approve business license suspensions for violations of the smoking ban.
