LG&E Investigated Over Credit Card Use

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Louisville Gas and Electric Company lawyers and an assistant attorney general are in a battle over credit card records.
The attorney general's office wants the records for its investigation of the utility and the Public Service Commission.
LG&E attorneys have asked a court for an emergency protective order to bar release of the credit card statements.
Pierce Whites of the attorney general's office says he'll argue that the American Express receipts will show that LG&E officials have made purchases for commissioners or staff of the PSC.
Franklin County circuit judge Roger Crittenden has set a hearing for Friday morning.
Attorney general Greg Stumbo began investigating in May whether LG&E and PSC officials had improper communications that could have affected the commission's approval of rate increases.
