LG&E Rate Hike

Louisville, KY – Louisville Gas & Electric has announced it will seek a 43% increase for
the typical natural gas bill this winter. Officials say its lower than originally
requested.
The utility said Wednesday that a typical residential customer using 8,000
cubic feet of gas monthly would reap a savings of about $18 from what it
had expected to charge. A 64% increase went into effect earlier this month.
LG&E reports it asked the Kentucky Public Service Commission to approve
the change after wholesale prices fell in recent days.
