Libertarian Plans to Enter Second District Congressional Race
A Libertarian candidate from LaRue County says he is planning to run for the Second District U.S. House seat currently held by Republican Brett Guthrie. Craig Astor, the former Chairman of the LaRue County Republican Party, says he will make his candidacy official next Monday.
The 49 year old Astor is an ordained Minister from Hodgenville, who says he will file the necessary candidacy papers with the Secretary of State's office next week.
The incumbent Republican, Brett Guthrie, is running for re-election.
On January 20th, perennial candidate David Lynn Williams filed to run as the Democratic candidate in the race. Guthrie first won the seat in the 2006 General Election.
Voters will determine the outcome of the Congressional race on November 6th.
