Liquor Legislation Passes In Two Towns
Henderson, KY – A voter turnout estimated at 95% has approved limited sales of liquor
by the drink in Cave City.
The measure passed Tuesday by just six votes...317 - 311.
An ordinance that has received final approval enables some Henderson
restaurants to legally serve alcohol on Sundays.
The Sunday alcohol sales ordinance passed Tuesday night and would
limit Sunday sales to hotels, motels and those restaurants that can seat
at least 100 people. The establishments must also derive at least half of
their revenues from the sale of food.
City officials say probably fewer than a dozen restaurants would meet
Sunday sales will be limited to the hours between 1:00 and 11:00 pm.
