Louisville Police Did Not Cause Fatal Shooting

By AP

Louisville, KY – Officials in Louisville say the bullet that killed a Shelby County man this week was not fired by police officers.
Joshua Rucker was struck in the head by a bullet during a shootout with police in a Bob Evans restaurant parking lot on Tuesday morning. But the Jefferson County coroner says the fatal round was not fired by police.
Coroner Ron Holmes says a state ballistics expert tells him that the bullet came from a gun inside the car occupied by Rucker. Police had gone to the scene to investigate reports of a group of men looking inside cars. Police encountered Rucker and four other people inside the car and began questioning them one at a time.
Police say someone fired on them from inside the car. It's not yet known if the bullet that killed Rucker came from a semi-automatic weapon that police found in the car.
