Lowe's to Close Twenty Stores

By Dan Modlin/AP

Bowling Green, KY – Lowe's closed ten retail outlets yesterday, and plans to shut down ten more within a month. Its part of a plan to focus on more profitable locations, according to company officials. The North Carolina-based chain is also cutting back on the number of new stores it will be building.
More than 1900 workers will lose their jobs in the twenty closings. Three of the stores are in New Hampshire, two are in Illinois, and two are in California.
