A Kentucky man has been charged with kidnapping a sleeping 10-year-old girl, taking her into the woods and sexually assaulting and choking her.
Kentucky State Police spokesman Norm Chaffins says 28-year-old Jetto Dye has also been charged with attempted murder and resisting arrest. Chaffins told the News-Enterprise that Dye took the girl from his home Saturday in Larue County and carried her behind the house into the woods. Chaffins says Dye tried to choke the girl when she screamed.
Police say Dye is not related to the child, but her parents were visiting Dye's home and left briefly while the girl was asleep. The child was treated and released from Hardin Memorial Hospital.
