Member Of Investigating Panel Resigns

By AP

Frankfort, KY – A member of the state panel investigating the Fletcher administration's hiring practices is resigning because of a possible conflict of interest.
Joy Moore, a member of the Kentucky personnel board, says she's resigning because her daughter, Brandi List, works for Governor Fletcher's administration.
Moore says her daughter reports to Dick Murgatroyd, who is Fletcher's deputy chief of staff and a potential target in the investigation.
Attorney general Greg Stumbo's office launched an investigation last month into allegations the administration base dits merit personnel decisions on politics rather than qualifications. The merit system was created in 1960 and is designed to protect rank and file state employees from politics.
Moore was appointed to the seven member
personnel board in February.
Last month, the board decided to investigate the allegations. Moore, a lawyer, is married to Boone County judge-executive Gary Moore.
