By AP

Owensboro, KY – The owners of a Henderson County hunting club have been convicted of baiting a field with seeds to attract doves.
63 year old Jack Strassweg of Corydon and 44 year old Rick Krohn of Newburgh, Indiana were convicted in U.S. district court in Owensboro of hunting doves over a baited field in 2002. 60 year old Clifford Romain of Corydon was convicted of aiding and abetting them.
U.S. magistrate judge Robert Goebel proposed a $55 fine for each, but gave the defendants time to object or request a sentencing hearing.
The defendants are owners of the High Ground Hunting Club which covers 1,950 acres in Henderson County.
The convictions come a week before dove season re-opens in Kentucky.
