Murray, KY – The family of a student killed in a dormitory fire at Murray State six years ago has settled a lawsuit with the university for $200,000.
Michael Minger's mother had sought as much as $4,000,000 in the four year old suit.
The university has denied fault in Minger's death in September 1998. The Niceville, Florida sophomore music student died of smoke inhalation in the fire at Hester Hall. Police said the fire was intentionally set, but a jury deadlocked in the trial of the only person charged.
