Mysterious Odor Shuts Down Judicial Center

By AP

Sheperdsville, KY – The Bullitt County Judicial Center was shut down late Monday afternoon and remained closed Tuesday after a strong, sudden odor chased everyone outside. Six people were sent to the hospital.
People were coughing and complaining of a burning sensation in their throats. After one perosn collapsed in the hall, circuit court clerk Doris Cornell ordered an evacuation of the building...about 200 people left.
Firefighters from Sheperdsville, Zoneton and Edgewood departments worked into Monday evening to determine the odor's origin, but without success. Some of those affected said it smelled like bleach.
Kentucky state police have now joined the investigation into the odor's origin.
