Officials Blame Bad Gas for Fuel Gauge Problems

By AP

Louisville, KY – The mystery of the fouled up fuel gauges in Louisville may
have been solved. The State Attorney General's office reports
that its apparently bad gasoline that is causing fuel gauges in
vehicles to stop working properly.

Many drivers thought they had plenty of fuel when they didn't,
and others said the gauge pointed to "empty" when the tank
was full. The origin of the bad gas and the actual source of
the problem have not been determined. Officials say there
doesn't seem to be a pattern to the problem.

Earlier this week Assistant Attorney General Harold Turner
said his office had received more than two hundred complaints
about the problem. The Triple A also reports that many
motorists in the Louisville area have complained about the
situation.
