One Dead In Louisville Police Shooting

By AP

Louisville, KY – One person is dead and at least one suspect is being questioned after an "officer involved shooting" in the parking lot of a Bob Evans Restaurant on Louisville's Preston Highway Tuesday morning.
Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says two officers have been placed on administrative leave. He says both the suspect and police fired shots.
Mitchell told reporters gathered near the scene that the identities of the officers will be released once their families know of the incident. He said both are patrolmen.
Mitchell said a complaint of suspicious persons came from the Bob Evans Restaurant. He says there were apparently some customers inside when the shooting occurred in the parking lot. An employee of a nearby U-Haul location said he heard gunfire, but has no other information about what happened.
Mitchell said he wasn't sure if the suspects had been inside the restaurant prior to the shooting. Jefferson County coroner Jack Arnold is also investigating.
