Owensboro Area Law Enforcement Concerned Synthetic Pot Still Being Sold in Region

Owensboro and Daviess County law enforcement agencies report a drop in attempts to sell synthetic marijuana by stores since the passage of a state law banning the product. However, both Owensboro Police and Daviess County Sheriff's officials are now concerned that the fake pot is being sold by individuals who bought the product before the law began in April.

Owensboro Police Sgt. Jeff Roby told the Messenger-Inquirer that officers found three plastic containers of synthetic marijuana at a house.

Daviess County Sheriff Keith Cain said some stores are trying to make an end run around the law, but are being told no form of the drug is legal.
